You must follow the
prescribed course of studies, developed by one of 12 LLQP Approved
Course Providers. There are 7 providers who deal with the “public” and
5 others who provide the course for their own recruits. For the
purposes of this document we will concentrate on the 7 public
providers: |

Purchase the
course materials from one of the providers listed, The Insurance
Advisor Training Centre recommends ILS Learning Corporation. Our

3. |
Study the
materials and prepare to write a 3 hour, 100 questions LLQP Online Certification
Exam from ILS. The purpose of the exam being to certify that you know the
material well enough to challenge the provincial licensing exam that
has 140 questions and 4 hours to complete. |

You must pass the
Certification Exam (the pass mark is 75% for the LLQP Online
certification exam) |

5. |
This should take between 6
to 8 weeks to complete the course by “self-study” |
|

You should plan on
writing the Certification Exam (the cost of the Certification Exam
is included in the package you purchase) within 24 to 48 hours of
completing your full course of studies and writing your Provincial
LLQP exam (also 4 hours and 140 questions with a pass mark of 60%)
no more that 10 days after the Certification, the cost of the
Provincial LLQP Exam is approximately $90.

7. |
Once you have passed
the Provincial LLQP exam you will be ready to apply for your
Provincial Life Insurance License. In Ontario, for example, you will need to be
sponsored by a company for your first two years in the business. That
Company’s Licensing and Contracting personnel will be able to
assist you with: |

a) obtaining
the required Errors & Omissions Insurance ($800 +)
b) your Provincial Life License ($150)
c) an Agent/Broker Contract to sell that Company’s products |
